Cath Arms

Hello, I am the counsellor behind Open Arms Counselling. I believe that every person’s story is unique, and I provide a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and understood.

My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, and I draw on a range of evidence-based practices including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused, and Positive Psychology. I understand that there is not just one approach that suits everyone, so I work collaboratively with clients to tailor each session to their individual needs.

I work with teens (12+), adults, couples, and members of the LGBTQI+ and gender diverse communities. My areas of focus include depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, and personal growth. As a sex-positive therapist and advocate for LGBTQI+ rights, I am committed to creating an inclusive and affirming space for all.

At the heart of my practice is a deep respect for the courage it takes to reach out for support, and a belief in the potential for healing and growth in every person.
